2nd-4th Grade: Young Actors’ Collective, Jr

In this fun, hands-on performance class, students learn by doing as they rehearse and perform a scripted play (The Legend of The Blue Sapphire: A Search Through Time). Through acting games, scene work, and rehearsal, kids build their confidence on stage. Students will work on developing characters, understanding scriptwork, and learning stage movement in a supportive environment. The class culminates in a performance that celebrates their hard work and growing love of theater.

Registration is first-come, first-served. During the first weeks of class, students will audition in class to be cast in roles. Everyone will receive a role. 

Due to the performance nature of this class, attendance is crucial. Please make sure your child is available for all dates listed below. Students will also be asked to do some work including line memorization outside of class.

• Dates: September 24; October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; November 5, 12, 19; December 3
  • No Class: November 26
  • Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, December 10 (4:30-6:30 PM at The Theatre Lab)
  • Final Sharing: Friday December 11 (4:30 PM Actor Calltime, Performance 6:30 PM at The Theatre Lab)

Classes are kept small to ensure every child receives extensive individual attention from instructors and meaningful socialization with other students. At The Theatre Lab, we believe that theatre education should be accessible to all. We strive to offer as much need-based financial aid as possible. If attending our courses at full price would be difficult for you, we encourage you to apply for assistance here.

Theatre Lab members receive a 10% discount off of school year class tuition, automatically applied at checkout. Annual memberships cost only $70 per year and also include discounted tickets to all Theatre Lab performances. Membership discounts do not apply to summer or spring break camps tuition.
