Jaysen Wright is a classically trained actor and educator based in his hometown of Washington, DC. He recently returned from The Oregon Shakespeare Festival where he spent four years as a member of the acting company. He’s performed at Arena Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Ford’s Theatre, Studio Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Folger Theatre, 1st Stage, Mosaic Theatre, Olney Theatre, Theatre J, Everyman Theatre, Imagination Stage, and Adventure Theatre, 5th Avenue Theatre, and Marin Theatre Company.
In 2026, Jaysen was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Play for his role as Keith in A Case for the Existence of God at Mosaic Theatre. He has taught acting at The George Washington University and Indiana University, and served as Director for Breaking Ground, a theatre program for LGBTQIA+ people of color that creates devised work.
He holds an MFA in Acting from Indiana University.
